Children's learning not improving under National Standards measurementsNational Standards results have remained mostly static over the past three years, ministry figures show. Children's levels of reading, writing, and maths have failed to improve in the past three years. The results were released on Friday, just days after research from the New Zealand Council for Education Research released survey findings that showed teachers believed National Standards were causing an increase in anxiety for their students. The Result Action Plan would help schools reach targets through Communities of Learning. Ministry of Education acting deputy secretary of early learning and student achievement Pauline Cleaver said Wellington's results were outstanding.
