A child is in a critical condition in hospital after suffering severe burns in a fire incident this evening. Northern fire communications shift manager, Daniel Nicholson, said a boy - whose age was not given - had suffered severe burns in some kind of "fire incident.'' They were later taken to Waikato Hospital in a critical condition. Emergency services were called to a property in Te Kuiti at about 6.30pm. "We attended to a child that was severely burnt.
