A Coroner's inquest has considered the unsolved killing of Ashburton teenager Kirsty Bentley, 17 years after her death. The short hearing, a legal formality, took place before Coroner Peter Ryan at the Christchurch Court House on Friday. She had died from a massive blow to her head by a blunt instrument. The hearing was told that the body of the 15-year-old was found about 60 kilometres from where she went missing in Ashburton on New Year's Eve in 1998, two weeks later.
