TUGUEGARAO CITY: The Commission on Elections (Comelec) in Cagayan province said it is ready for the start of filing of certificate of candidacies (CoCs) on Friday, October 1 for the May 2022 elections. The Comelec has already prepared two tents outside their office here as a receiving area for CoCs, according to lawyer Michael Camangeg, provincial election supervisor, during an interview aired over the Cagayan Province Information Office TeleRadyo. However, Camangeg clarified not all candidates will be allowed to file their CoCs with the provincial Comelec office. "We will only allow candidates for the governor, vice governor, Sangguniang Panlalawigan (provincial board) and the House of Representatives to file their CoCs at the Comelec office," he said. Camangeg also explained candidates filing their CoCs can come personally or their authorized representatives to file with the office as there is no online filing.
