Asuncion said that for the Filipino-Chinese community, the Year of the Wooden Dragon is expected to bring prosperity and abundance. The Cagayan de Oro local government spearheaded this year’s celebration of the Chinese New Year, sponsoring the fireworks display at the Paseo de Oro Boulevard Friday night and a dragon boat race along the Cagayan de Oro River on Sunday.
