The chief election commissioner made the remarks while briefing the magistrates on the election code of conduct at the Election Commission Bhaban auditorium in Dhaka on Sunday. He urged the magistrates to ensure that all candidates have a level playing field and are able to make use of their rights. “As a magistrate, you should issue orders in such a way that they can never ignore it. But all of them should be instructed according to the laws.”Chief Election Commissioner Huda also instructed magistrates to be strict to ensure the security of presiding officer during the votes. “At present, magistrates are the creators of fates,” said Election Commissioner Mahbub Talukder.
