A Nairobi businessman has been charged with causing the death of a woman by dangerous driving along Jogoo Road. Bernard Kariuki was accused of speeding and driving in a manner which was dangerous to other road users. The prosecution says he hit pedestrian Felister Waweru at a zebra crossing and his vehicle veered off the road and landed in a ditch. Kariuki allegedly committed the offence on November 20 last year at 6.30pm in Makadara, Nairobi. Kariuki denied the charges before chief magistrate Heston Nyaga and was released on a Sh50,000 bail or an alternative Sh200,000 bond.
