The national Treasury is seeking parliamentary approval to bridge shortfalls in the current budget amounting to Sh75.3 billion. The additional allocations for ministries that face deficits are contained in supplementary budget highlights submitted to the Finance committee yesterday. This is the last supplementary budget sought by the government before the next financial year. The IEBC requested additional funding following the enactment of the Election Laws last December. Besides the Treasury, the ministries of Interior, Devolution and Planning, Tourism and Trade have also had their budgets adjusted upwards.
