Governors have reluctantly accepted plans by the Health ministry to hire 400 nurses and clinical officers to run the 100 container clinics. Governors agreed to the ministry hiring nurses, but with conditions. Kioko said those who applied will be considered for the container clinics jobs. The ministry imported the 100 container clinics last year, but they were kept in the National Youth Service grounds in Mariakani, Mombasa, following concerns that their cost was inflated. Mruttu, also the CoG deputy chairman, said the ministry had not clarified what will happen to the health workers after their two-year contract.
