Broadcaster Bryan Dobson appeared on The Late Late Show last night, and discussed some of his most memorable moments helming the Six One news during his 21-year tenure. When asked by Ryan Tubridy about the controversy around the pay discrepancy between himself and former co-anchor Sharon Ní Bheoláin, Dobson said he was "surprised by the figures as Sharon revealed them". He went on to discuss the issue of gender in the workplace, acknowledging that the issue goes beyond ‘equal pay for equal work’, saying that: "Even if you do meet the bar of equal pay for work of equal value that actually doesn't deal with the problem so there are lots of other issues."
