Brother: Death-row militant left as a boy

"My brother called us up a few days ago from a cellphone and said he might be released, which made us so happy. But look what has happened," Muzaffar's elder brother Riyaz Ahmad told The Telegraph over phone from Khejogipora village in South Kashmir's Kulgam, 70km from Srinagar. Muzaffar's lawyer called up his family yesterday and informed them about the death sentence. Muzaffar's family said they would appeal in Calcutta High Court against the Bongaon court verdict. The trio had been booked under IPC Sections 120B (punishment of criminal conspiracy), 121 (waging, or attempting to wage war) and 122 (collecting arms with intention of waging war against the Government of India).
