James 'Chucky' Stannard, the 35-year-old captain rugby sevens captain, was reportedly knocked unconscious in the incident outside a kebab shop in Sydney in the early hours of Friday. A 22-year-old Brit, who has not yet been named, fled the scene but was chased down by a group of witnesses. The Brit remains in custody and will be charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm over the 'unprovoked' attack, New South Wales police said. Stannard was recently chosen to captain the sevens at the upcoming Commonwealth Games that are taking place on the Gold Coast next month.
