more-inA 14-year-old boy who was allegedly depressed shot himself in the chest with his father’s licensed pistol around 6.30 p.m on Sunday in north-west Delhi’s Adarsh Nagar, the police said on Thursday. He took the boy to a private hospital, which referred the teenager to Babu Jagjivan Ram Memorial Hospital. The boy is undergoing treatment and is said to be out of danger, the police said. The father is strict about academics and wanted the boy to do well in the upcoming exams. The police said they have booked the father under relevant Sections of the Indian Penal Code and Arms Act, and have also recommended cancellation of his pistol licence.
