Prof. Minz of the School of Computer and Systems Science secured 344 votes, while her opponent S. Srinivasa Rao from the School of Social Sciences polled 195 votes in the elections held on Wednesday. Of the total 597 votes, 546 votes were cast in the poll. JNUTA vice-presidentsThe new JNUTA vice-presidents are Devendra Kumar Choubey, who polled 324 votes, and Partho Datta, who secured 301 votes. The JNUTA election comes at a time when teachers have been at loggerheads with the university administration and have accused the Vice-Chancellor of bypassing the university’s democratic bodies and announcing decisions that could alter the “character of the university”.
