Okay, NOW you’re playing like a Harry Potter movie. Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone rose 15% on its first Tuesday for a $7.6m day-five gross while Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire rose 11% ($9m) and Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows part I rose 16% ($10.2m) on its fifth day. It just scored a bigger first Tuesday/day-five gross than three of the four Harry Potter films that opened in mid-November. It’s a bigger first Tuesday than Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban which earned $7.4m on its first (middle of June) Tuesday and it’s right in between the $9.1m first Tuesday of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince and the $9.5m first Tuesday of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. The first Twilight rose 33% on its first Tuesday for a $6 million gross and $80m five-day total.
