In a letter written to All India Tennis Association (AITA), Bopanna nominated Myneni as his doubles partner. "I have earned the right to exercise my judgement on my partner for Rio Olympics. India's highest ranked men's doubles player Rohan Bopanna has reportedly picked Saketh Myneni (ranked 125) over veteran Leander Paes (ranked 46) as his doubles partner for 2016 Rio Olympics Bopanna on Monday officially returned to top 10 in the ATP ranking doubles chart, securing a direct entry into the men's doubles event of the Rio Olympics and had the liberty to pick a parent of his choice. Sania Mirza had earlier stated that she has conveyed her decision to the association on her preferred partner for Rio, which most likely will be Bopanna. Look forward to AITA supporting me in the lead up to the Rio Games," Bopanna wrote to AITA as reported by News18.AITA is scheduled to meet on Saturday to decide India's Olympic teams for men's doubles and mixed doubles.
