Blue Jays starter Trent Thornton will be back at the video board, looking to make adjustments, after getting pounded early and often in a 10-6 loss to the Boston Red Sox at the Rogers Centre on Tuesday night. Thornton didn’t make it out of the third inning, surrendering seven runs on 11 hits — all of the hard-hit variety. Hitting stride: Jays catcher Danny Jansen went 3-for-4 and was a triple shy of hitting for the cycle. Three of the seven are from Venezuela, as the Jays continue to scout and sign players from the troubled nation. Up next: The Jays and Red Sox will do it again Wednesday at 7 p.m. Mark Zwolinski is a sports reporter based in Toronto.
