Former minister Nicholas Biwott is embattled in a fresh land ownership dispute with the Elgeyo Marakwet county government over prime land in Iten town. He said part of the land Biwott is claiming in Iten town was sold to him by someone who has since died. “We have scrutinised his ownership documents but as far as we know, the land ownership is contentious. Lagat said Biwott asked why the land had been used by the county, yet it is his property. Biwott said Tolgos’ administration has irregularly fenced his land and converted it into a dumpsite.
