Bhutanese Royal Family and VIPs attend prayers ceremony

Bhutanese King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck earlier this month ordered that a prayer ceremony for the late King be hosted in the kingdom’s capital Thimphu on the same day as his Royal Cremation in Bangkok. Their Majesties the Queen Mothers of Bhutan, members of the Royal Family and government officials also attended the ceremony, where the Queen Mothers and Their Royal Highnesses the Princesses lit butter lamps at Kuenselphodrang. The Royal Family was joined in prayers by the Prime Minister and senior government officials. King Jigme and Queen Jetsun Pema were in Bangkok to attend the Royal Cremation during a three-day stay in Thailand, which ended on Friday. The Bhutanese King and Queen visited Bangkok on October 16 last year to pay their respects to the late King, who passed away on October 13 last year.
