Even though Myanmar and Bangladesh inked a deal for repatriation of the Rohingyas, the likelihood of the displaced people’s return is minimal, opined eminent Swedish journalist Bertil Lintner. Lintner also alleged that China is trying to take full advantage of the rising tension between Myanmar and the West. Lintner is on a visit to Assam accompanied by 13 journalists from Myanmar on a study tour. Bertil Lintner is one of many blacklisted journalists who have not officially been allowed to enter Myanmar since 1985. He has written extensively about Myanmar, India, China and North Korea in various local, national and international publications in over thirty countries.
