Banks warn public vs new phishing method – The Manila Times

The country’s biggest banks cautioned the banking public against a new phishing method by fraudsters who take advantage of the crisis brought about by the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) pandemic. “These emails are forms of phishing wherein personal and sensitive information will be asked in order to gain control of your accounts. Banks will never request for your sensitive information,” BAP added. It advised the public to ignore any suspicious emails, calls or text messages, and report these to their respective banks immediately. “Remember that your banks will never request for your personal information, account number or any one time passwords/OTPs,” it added.
