State Minister for Foreign Affairs Shahriar Alam has reached Istanbul on Wednesday to attend the 9th summit of the D-8 Organisation for Economic Cooperation. The summit is scheduled to be held on October 20, 2017 in Istanbul, Turkey. Prior to the summit, the state minister will attend the Ministerial Meeting of D-8 on October 19. The state minister is leading a six-member delegation including director general, international organisations, of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Bangladesh ambassador to Turkey, and consul general of Bangladesh to Istanbul. The Istanbul Summit will offer D-8 leaders the opportunity of renewing and strengthening bilateral relations and a meaningful cooperation in the fields of trade, investment and people-to-people contacts.
