Brihanmumbai Municipal Commissioner Ajoy Mehta visited the Bhatia Building on Friday morning following the Bombay High Court's order to take actions to ensure that no further damaged is caused to the building on Princess Street. The HC on Thursday had directed the BMC chief to ascertain weather cracks developed in the building are effect of the causes mentioned by the residents, and to file an affidavit. A Bhatia Building resident, Sharad Negandhi said, "It was our complain after which the court directed the BMC chief to take measures to prevent further damage. The BMC had already failed to comply with court order to stop redevelopment work on March 16. Over 16 tenants of the building, also known as Sitaram Sadan, had approached the court claiming that the building has developed more cracks.
