Photo: HTNew Delhi: The Broadcast Editors’ Association (BEA) on Monday condemned the Rajasthan government’s ordinance that restricts media from reporting alleged wrongdoings by public servants and judicial officials. In a statement, the association demanded an immediate withdrawal of the ordinance. The BEA demands chief minister Vasundhara Raje revoke its government’s ordinance forthwith,” the statement said. The Criminal Laws (Rajasthan Amendment) Ordinance, 2017, promulgated on 7 September, also seeks to bar the media from reporting accusations till the sanction to proceed with the probe is obtained.
