The Auditor General has called for implementation of all recommendations they give in their audit reports. Nancy Gathungu on Tuesday noted that her office gives recommendations every financial year but they ususally go unimplemented. "We are advocating that audit recommendations must be implemented so that there is improvement and change on how public resources are managed," she stated. "We therefore, urge the assembly to implement this provision by ensuring timely discussion on audit reports and enforcement of audit recommendations". He thanked the Auditor General for the good gesture, noting the partnership would improve the oversight role of the Assembly.
