more-inPierre-Emerick Aubameyang joined Arsenal from Borussia Dortmund for a club record fee of £56 million on Wednesday. Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger did not wait until the last minute to land the Gabon striker. He persuaded the Arsenal board to pay more for the 28-year-old than the £46.5 million it shelled out for Frenchman Alexandre Lacazette last August. “Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has joined us from Borussia Dortmund on a long-term contract for a club-record fee,” a statement from Arsenal said. City is reported to have paid a club record £57 million for Athletic Bilbao defender Laporte, eclipsing the £55 million it paid for Kevin De Bruyne in 2015.
