The victim met Stanislaus Lobo through a matrimonial website. He also claimed to have sent her some gifts, including £10,000 and diamonds, through courier from London. On January 13, the victim got a call and was asked to deposit ₹36,000 to collect the ‘foreign courier’. When she received more calls asking her to pay various other fees, she became suspicious and approached the cyber crime police on Saturday.
