Ash Regan says it would be 'unconscionable' for Mridul Wadhwa to continue as rape crisis centre CEO

A leading MSP has said Mridul Wadhwa to be sacked as CEO of Edinburgh Rape Crisis Centre and for a caretaker board to be installed while the scandal is investigated. There have been concerns about the CEO for a number of years, with JK Rowling even setting up a rival female-only rape crisis centre in the capital. Posting on X, Alba MSP Ash Regan said: "Mridul Wadhwa continuing as CEO of Edinburgh Rape Crisis Centre following the damning Employment Tribunal Judgement Roz Adams won conclusively is unconscionable. Mridul Wadhwa ignored the same-sex exemption in the Equality Act 2010 when applying for the CEO role. The board of directors at Edinburgh Rape Crisis Centre said they were "saddened by the outcome of the Tribunal", which has yet to set compensation for Ms Adams.
