First - term Senator GOP Markwayne Mullin (47) currently represents Sooner State Oklahoma. During this hearing, Sen. Mullin told O’Brien to “shut his mouth” and mocked O’Brien as a “tough guy and greedy CEO (Pengelly, M., 3/09/23, theguardian.com).” In a second Senate confrontation, Sen. Mullin challenged O’Brien to a fight and began moving toward O’Brien. Sen. Mullin also favorably cited the near fatal beating via caning of anti-slavery Sen.Charles Sumner by pro-Southern Cong. Sen. Mullin additionally supports making abortion illegal under all circumstances, with no exceptions for rape, incest, or if the mother’s life was at risk.
