Asean Para Games: Track cyclists exceed target, grab all seven gold in 1st day


NILAI: The national track cyclists swept all seven gold medals on offer in the first day of the Asean Para Games at the Nilai Velodrome yesterday (Sunday). Afiq Afify Rizan and his point man Khairul Adha Rasol won two gold medals in the One Kilometre time-trial and sprint events. And in the women's category, Nur Azlia Syafinaz and her point man Noraidillina Adilla also won two golds in the One Kilometre time-trial and sprint events. National paracycling coach Johari Nayan was elated with the haul, as it exceeded the six golds targetted for the opening day. "Our target for Day One was six golds because there were some new athletes in the event and we did not have information or clear data on them.
