Malaysian men Goalball team hoping to overcome bugbear Thailand

KUALA LUMPUR: The Malaysian men's goalball team are hoping to put their nightmare two years-ago behind them, as they take on defending champions Thailand in the second round robin match on Monday at the Kuala Lumpur Asean Para Games (KL2017). The match then ended five minutes earlier when Malaysia won by a walkover (10 points clear) when they reached 16-6. Team captain Husnaini, added that Thailand have always been a force to be reckoned with as they are very strong mentally and have got a lot of stamina. Meanwhile in the women's preliminary round, Malaysia fell short in the opening match, losing 9-3 to Laos. The national team coached by Nagoor Meera Abdullah, however, are still confident of reaching the final despite the early setback.
