Arsene Wenger gets his boots out at the age of 68 to take part in charity match

He might be ready to return to the dug-out after departing Arsenal in the summer, but Arsene Wenger opted to mix things up as he dug out his boots for a charity match. In front of a 10,000-strong crowd inside the Stade Jean-Laville, Wenger joined forces with the likes of France national team boss Didier Deschamps. Wenger, Deschamps and Co provided the opposition to take on FC Gueugnon old boys and the match helped raise more than £20,000 for various charitable causes. This is not the first time Wenger has crossed the white line as a player since leaving the Emirates. Back in September, Wenger played his part in a charity match in Nancy that was in memory of Aldo Platini, father of former France midfielder Michel.
