Luke Shaw has signed a new five-year contract with Manchester United on wages soaring north of £150,000 a week. The news completes a dramatic turnaround for the 23-year-old at Old Trafford after two chastening seasons under Jose Mourinho. United are expected to announce the deal ahead of their trip to Shaw's boyhood club Chelsea at the weekend. Discussions have been ongoing for a number of weeks, with Shaw's performances a definite highlight of a difficult start to the season. United assured Shaw over the summer that they had decided against pursuing interest in other left backs and the club's hierarchy want him to become a mainstay.
