Boxing Thursday, August 11, 2016 Argentine Peralta eliminated in quartersRIO DE JANEIRO — Argentine boxer Yamil Peralta was eliminated from the heavyweight Olympic competition yesterday after losing to Erislandy Savón of Cuba in the quarterfinals. It was the second time for Peralta in an Olympic Games. He won bronze medal in the Pan-American Games in Toronto last year and bronze in the 2013 world championship in Kazakhstan. With a victory, Savón secured at least a bronze medal and will fight against Vassiliy Levit of Kazakhstan for a place in the final. Argentines Ignacio Perrín, Alberto Palmetta and Leandro Blanc were eliminated in the first round, while the Peralta was the only one who managed to win a fight.
