Ardagh hit by weak performance in US glass packaging business as it records loss of $94mThe company, run by veteran entrepreneur Paul Coulson, has been hit by weak performance in its North American glass packaging business. Ardagh also shouldered a $186m impairment charge to goodwill in relation to its North American glass packaging division. In the fourth quarter of 2018, revenue edged 1pc higher to $2.13bn, while adjusted EBITDA was also up 1pc, at $338m. Mr Coulson added: “Glass packaging in Europe delivered another strong performance in 2018, with broad-based volume growth. Adjusted EBITDA for the quarter increased by 5pc and market conditions are positive.
