Last week Nintendo made a surprise announcement with Tetris 99, making it the company’s first foray into the ever lucrative Battle Royale arena. Tetris 99 is, in essence, Tetris in battle royale mode. Like other games in the genre such as Fortnite and Apex Legends, there are 99 players per match but there can only be one winner. Tetris 99 can be remarkably cruel that way. Tetris 99 is a truly exasperating take on a puzzle game that people of all ages will know how to play.
