And I think that's a compromise that we made in the bill. I think people here in Quebec want teachers and people in authority to not wear religious symbols. SJB: The grandfather clause that we put in the bill permits [a teacher] to change classes inside the same school board. If you change school board or you change jobs — like you become a school principal — you lose your grandfather clause because it's a limited grandfather clause. That some people, in a [position] of authority, or with authority, will not be able to wear religious symbols.
