Apayao mayor denies ‘shabu’ lab in his townTuguegarao City, Cagayan — Mayor Rolly Guiang of Sta. Marcela town in Apayao province has vehemently denied the existence of a “shabu” laboratory in his town, following the discovery of 14 containers of chemicals used in making methamphetamine hydrochloride (shabu). Speaking over Bombo Radyo, Guiang said these chemical ingredients for shabu were hid by a suspected drug personality in the town, but denied that a shabu laboratory was operating under his nose. Last Friday, the more or less 300 liters of ethyl ether, a chemical component of shabu, were seized at a banaba plantation in Barangay Malekkeg, Sta. Last June 22, Marlo – whom police tagged as a drug personality – was gunned down by an unidentified assailant in Abulug, Cagayan.
