An artist's impression of the new apartment development. Yet another apartment development has been proposed for the central resort street. Laird Properties Ltd has applied for consent to build 41 residential units, which could also be used for visitor accommodation, over three storeys at 20 and 26 Fryer Street. The units will be a mixture of studio units and two-bedroom apartments, to be used to house staff. It called Fryer St "an area in transition".
