Banned company director and former bankrupt developer Hamish James Clarke appears to be actively involved in several Auckland property development companies that owe contractors hundreds of thousands of dollars, former staff and contractors claim. Clarke is not named as director but is understood to have a managerial position with Kouda Construction, EA Civil, and Kamau Group. The sole director and shareholder of Kamau Group, EA Civil, Kouda Construction and 14 other companies is listed as Melanie Lynett Wasserman. State housing agency Kāinga Ora said it had not bought properties from Kamau Group, but it had bought three properties from Wasserman. A number of sources also claimed Kamau Group owed Placemakers thousands, if not hundreds of thousands of dollars.
