PENAMPANG: An ammonia leak at an ice factory at Kampung Mogoputih here forced the evacuation of a number of workers. It is understood that the leak occurred when a technician was dealing with the ammonia gas storage tank. A spokesman for the district Fire and Rescue Department said that they were alerted to the incident at about 2.04pm. He said its personnel first ensured the safety of all the workers, before monitoring the factory. "The leakage, which could be detected as far as 50 meters (away), was at a minimum level.
