MPs of the YSR Congress, the TDP's opponent in Andhra Pradesh, also protested in the Well demanding "special status" for the state. The TDP members continued with their protest even when Prime Minister Narendra Modi was in the House in the post-lunch session. Congress House leader Mallikarjun Kharge refused to participate in the debate after agitating TDP parliamentarians stood in front of hischair and waved placards. "Follow alliance dharma now", "we demand completion of the Polavaram project" - read some of the placards. The TDP members refused to end their demonstrations despite repeated requests by the Speaker.
