A large number of members of the clergy and congregation of the CoP were also present at the special service. In his sermon, Bishop Marshall paid tribute to the founding fathers of the CoP and urged the incumbent church leadership to prepare itself for effectively handling the present and future challenges facing the CoP and the community at large. Bishop Marshall said that the founding fathers of the CoP recognised the fact that the Pakistani Christian community, even though it was relatively smaller in number, was divided by denominations. Bishop Marshall said that the Golden Jubilee of the church union provided the leadership an opportunity for introspection.
