Aerospace Park project slows down

more-inThe pace of setting up the Aerospace Park, launched by the State Industries Promotion Corporation of Tamil Nadu at Vadagal near Oragadam, has slowed down, going by the response given by the Environment Minister, C.Karuppanan at Orgadam on Monday. Talking to reporters after chairing a meeting of industrial units at Oragadam, the Minister said none of the industries to whom land allocation had been made for setting up their units at the Aerospace Park had approached the Pollution Control Board for clearance. When the project was launched and the stone laid by Chief Minister Edappadi K.Palanisamy, land allotment orders were issued to nine units out of a total of 20 that made a request for allotment of plots at the park. SIPCOT announced that the Aerospace Park, to begin with, would be set up on 245 acres and would be expanded to 600 acres in the future. They had also stressed the need for an exclusive parking bay for trucks at the Oragadam Industrial Park as parking of long-vehicles along the service roads hamper the movement of other vehicles.
