Picture by Main Uddin ChistiCooch Behar: The Trinamul-run Cooch Behar municipality has finally decided to implement solid waste management in a coordinated manner to keep the town clean. Bhushan Singh, the civic chairman, said on Monday that a decision had been taken at the monthly board meeting of the municipality that a private firm would be assigned with the responsibility of proper disposal and recycling of waste. The private firm will be provided with space on the dumping ground of the civic body, located on the bank of Torsha river. Also, we would be entitled to the sale proceeds of the organic fertiliser while the earnings from biogas will be with the firm," said Singh.
