New Delhi: Calling for an urgent need for labour law flexibility, the Economic Survey 2019 Thursday gave the example of Rajasthan model of labour reform to boost employment, and factory productivity. Taking 2014-15 as the base year when labour reform picked up in Rajasthan, the economic survey said the northern state gained in terms of capital investment, employment, growth in factories among others. “In 2014-15, the average number of firms with 100 employees or more are similar for Rajasthan and the Rest of India. “It can be clearly seen that, for all variables, CAGR post labour reforms in Rajasthan has increased significantly vis-àvis the Rest of India," it said. Rajasthan has effected several labour reforms that corporate term it as progressive but workers union as regressive.
