City commissioner Sohail Rajput has directed all of the metropolis' deputy commissioners to ensure the implementation of prices fixed by the city administration and the government, taking action against those failing to comply with those rates. Rajput chaired a meeting on Sunday to review the measures taken by the city administration regarding the availability of essential goods at a fixed price. He asked the deputy commissioners to depute all additional deputy commissioners, assistant commissioners and mukhtiarkars that had judicial powers in order to control the rates of the goods. It was decided during the meeting that the deputy commissioners would submit daily reports to the commissioner regarding action taken against profiteers and hoarders. Assuring the city administration of their support, they said they would initiate an awareness campaign about the role consumers could play to curb price hikes.
