Accidental garage fire in Saskatoon causes $120 K in damages

A garage fire resulted in roughly $120,000 in damages after a fire in Saskatoon King George neighbourhood earlier today. Crews from the Saskatoon Fire Department were called to the 900 block of Avenue L North at around 1 p.m. for reports a detached garage was going up in flames, according to a news release. Fire crews were able to get the fire under control and extinguished, at which time the scene was turned over to a fire investigator. A news release from the Saskatoon Fire Department indicated traffic restrictions were in place as crews battled the blaze, but they have since been lifted. The cause of the fire was determined to be accidental and is said to have started inside the garage.
