MANILA, Philippines — Ten crew members of a cargo ship, including eight Filipinos, were rescued by Chinese authorities after their vessel listed in the South China Sea, the Chinese Embassy in Manila posted on its Facebook page. A report by state news agency Xinhua said provincial maritime authorities in Hainan, China, received a report around 5 p.m Monday that a Sierra Leone-flagged ship was listing off the Spratly Islands in the South China Sea. The crew members, who also included two Chinese nationals, abandoned the ship and boarded a life raft. ADVERTISEMENT“All 10 were rescued. They were in a normal condition, although one of them had sustained a minor shoulder injury,” the report said, adding that the crew members were expected to arrive in Yantian Port in Shenzhen on Thursday.
