TEBEDU: The Malaysia Armed Forces (ATM) rescued more than 600 live magpies following the arrest of four illegal immigrants from Indonesia here today. “The foreigners had used the smuggler routes and transported the birds by foot to avoid being detected by the authorities. Earlier in Miri, a team from the 12th Battalion General Operation Force rounded up 35 Suluk immigrants from three locations in town. Also arrested during the 2am operation were five illegal immigrants from Indonesia. “Some of the foreigners had paid RM1,200 to a syndicate to enter and stay in the country illegally.
